Valmy
Valmy is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who’s been following the ocean and making home on the East Coast. Exploring the complexities of relationship, loss, and healing, she uses her folk-influenced music to tell stories about loving and stumbling your way through the dark. Now based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Valmy creates and performs from a place of honesty and wonder, weaving nature-inspired melodic swells and atmospheric harmonies with her contemplative writing. Valmy independently released her debut full-length album, The In Between, in September 2023, concluded the year with MusicNL nominations for Rising Star and Folk/Roots Artist of the Year, and is a 2024 ECMA nominee for African Canadian Artist of the Year.

Cristina Hernandéz
Cristina Hernandez is a Mexican singer and songwriter. She studied at Fermatta Music Academy, majoring in voice and minoring in composition and has been active in the music industry for more than 10 years.
Currently, her residence is St. John’s, Newfoundland, ever since she has been performing at different cultural venues and festivals around the province, like Newfound Music at Memorial University, the Governor's House, the 2023 SAR Festival, Tombolo Festival, for the Multicultural Woman Organization, Spirit of Newfoundland, Music NL.
She was part of the last Ryan Gates and Greg Wells production, “A Trinity Hall Christmas,” an album created in support of the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Now, she is working on new songs and projects exploring new musical fusions with worldwide artists.

Ana Luísa Ramos
Ana Luísa Ramos’ is an award-winning Brazilian singer-songwriter based in St. John's, Canada. Her sophomore album Amanheceu earned her the 2021 MusicNL Jazz Artist of the Year award and a nomination for Global Artist of the Year. Her most recent single Clouds is a nostalgic upbeat song that speaks of long roads, vast horizons, new beginnings, and unconditional love.
Ana´s music is influenced by Brazilian Bossa Nova composers, such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, and the greatest of North American Jazz, such as Ella Fitzgerald. The thoughtful lyrics and beautiful arrangements combine to create a unique and contemporary sound in which the Brazilian tropical sun is reflected on the stormy and windy landscapes of Newfoundland.
For the last two decades, Ana has been working in the classical and popular fields and has performed in Europe, South, Central, and North America. Throughout her career, she has recorded over 15 albums for different projects. In 2016 Ana released her first solo album, entitled Um, which was followed by Amanheceu, released in 2021.
Ana has also actively worked on her project with singer-songwriter Eric Taylor Escudero, Ana & Eric. The duo released their debut self-titled EP through The Citadel House in November 2020 and Our House From Here, which earned them three 2023 MusicNL nominations and one 2024 ECMAs nomination. Ana´s new album Solaris, recorded in Brazil, Canada and USA, will be released on April 19, 2024.

Nico Paulo
Nico Paulo is a Portuguese/Canadian singer-songwriter, visual artist and designer. She moved to Canada in 2014, originally setting down roots in the vibrant Toronto arts community, and eventually moved east to become an essential part of Newfoundland’s celebrated music scene. Paulo’s highly anticipated debut LP, released in spring 2023 is a melodically dynamic, heart-baring collection of lush, sophisticated folk-pop arrangements that was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize of Canada, for the ECMA’s Folk Recording of the Year and winner of four titles with the MusicNL Awards.

PERFORMANCE WALK
Robyn Breen
Robyn Breen is a dance artist, movement educator and arts event coordinator. She was born and raised in St. John’s, NL, and spent over a dozen years living and working in Toronto, Ontario. Since 2020, she has been spending most of her time back home in Newfoundland reconnecting with the arts community. Robyn was a co-artistic director (aka LOVER) with the Toronto Dance Community Love-In from 2014-2021 where she worked with and learned from dozens of dance artists and movement educators from around the globe. Her work has been presented at SummerWorks Performance Festival and TO Love-In’s PS: We Are All Here in Toronto, The Festival of New Dance in St. John’s, Coastal Currents in Halifax and Dance Stages in Corner Brook.
Maria Cherwick
Maria Cherwick’s career spans from symphony orchestras, to touring internationally with her Ukrainian speed-folk band, The Kubasonics. Originally from the Canadian Prairies, Maria’s studies and career eventually brought her to St. John's Newfoundland, where she is currently based. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Brandon University and a Masters of Music from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and has performed, toured and held leadership positions with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and National Academy Orchestra.
Twice named MusicNL “Side Musician of the Year” as well as “Celtic/Traditional Artist of the Year”, Maria maintains a busy performing schedule, dividing her time between several country, folk and bluegrass bands, and is highly sought after as a session musician.
In 2020, Maria published Home From Away, an illustrated book of original fiddle tunes as well as an accompanying CD, and is thrilled to release her first full album this year with her band Jockey Special. With Jockey Special, Maria blends original compositions, traditional fiddle tunes, classical repertoire, and more, creating a unique and modern voice in traditional music.

Allie Duff
Allie Duff is a writer and musician living in St. John's, NL. Her poems have been published in Riddle Fence, Newfoundland Quarterly, newpoetry.ca, among others. Allie was an honourable mention in in the 2016 Gregory J. Power poetry competition and in CV2's Young Buck poetry prize in 2020
Veronica Dymond
Veronica Dymond is a comedian, cartoonist, and producer who works in St. John's, NL. Her writing and comics have been featured on Cracked.com and CBC.ca. Her shorts and sketches have appeared in festivals like the Toronto Sketch Festival, the St. John's Shorts Festival, and the Nickel Independent Film Festival. In 2021 she appeared on the Just For Laugh Originals comedy album Infinity Plus Pizza and in 2023 she produced her first solo show, I Kill Myself: A Live Comedy Show.
Susan Jarvis
Susan Jarvis is a performer and entertainer living in St. John's NL. Her specialties include fire manipulation, hula hooping, and teaching circus skills to people of all ages.
