WOMEN'S WORK FESTIVAL IS LOOKING FOR A NEW BOARD MEMBER!

Are you getting ready to submit a play for our 20th Festival? PARC is offering a two-day workshop, "ASK A DRAMATURGE (or the dramaturge will ask you)," to help you get your play in shape.

This workshop is led by award-winning playwright and dramaturge and PARC's AD Santiago Guzmán. Santiago will work with you to further develop your new play by asking dramaturgical questions and offering prompts to unlock new storytelling possibilities. You don't need a completed script to participate—an idea, a few pages, or a couple of scenes will work. The workshop will focus on process and exploration, not a finished product.

the seedlings project: wwf playwriting unit

As part of our lead-up to our 20th anniversary in 2026, Women's Work Festival is thrilled to launch its inaugural playwriting unit, The Seedlings Project. This initiative aims to cultivate new voices and support the development of original plays by women and gender diverse artists. This year, we are particularly excited to offer opportunities to artists residing in and outside of St. John's in Newfoundland and Labrador, with a dedicated space for IBPOC artists.
Meet the 2025 cohort!
