ASK A DRAMATURGE (or the dramaturge will ask you) IS BACK!
Are you getting ready to submit a play for our 20th Festival? PARC is offering a two-day workshop, "ASK A DRAMATURGE (or the dramaturge will ask you)," to help you get your play in shape.
This workshop is led by award-winning playwright and dramaturge and PARC's AD Santiago Guzmán. Santiago will work with you to further develop your new play by asking dramaturgical questions and offering prompts to unlock new storytelling possibilities. You don't need a completed script to participate—an idea, a few pages, or a couple of scenes will work. The workshop will focus on process and exploration, not a finished product.
The workshop runs from 5 pm to 8 pm on August 29 and 11 am to 2 pm on August 31, with the expectation that writers will work on Santiago' s prompts in between sessions.
Location: TBA. Participants can attend online or in-person.
Hear what past participants had to say:
"I am thrilled with the 'container concept.' This new place to play with a piece of the story! Just a tiny bite can help propel you forward." – Michelle Clemens
"Getting to hear about everyone’s work was amazing—just magic. I wish someone was making a documentary theatre piece ABOUT this very conversation to share what these ‘behind the scenes’ processes and holding space and/or building intersectional containers can offer." – Jenne Nolan
Only 8 spots available. First come, first served.
Registration is mandatory, and while admission is free, we encourage donations to support our 20th annual festival.
Deadline to register: August 23.
